I’ve covered how to get both the Haze Seas Lava Ore and the Lava Key, which are both related to the cave behind Marine Base Town. It’s not a necessary measure unless you want to face off against the Haze Seas Mace Boss.

Haze Seas Lava Ore and Lava Key

Both the Lava Ore and the Lava Key go hand-in-hand in Haze Seas. Without the Lava Key, you can’t get into the cave, which is where the cauldron is. The very cauldron that you need to place the Lava Ore in to spawn the Mace Boss.

How to Get Lava Ore

Lava Ore is a potential drop from the Marine Captain in the Marine Base Town. It has a 5% drop chance upon defeat, making it a rare item indeed.

What is Lava Ore Used For?

The entire point of getting Lava Ore is to spawn the Mace boss. You need to place the Lava Ore into the cauldron in the cave that is located behind Marine Base Town, not too far away from where the Marine Captain boss spawns.

To access the cauldron, you need to unlock the gate to the cave with the Lava Key, which I go into more detail about further on in this guide.

Mace Boss

When spawning the Mace Boss via the Cauldron, he appears right there in the cave with you. To get any of the potential drops upon his defeat, you need to deal at least 20% of the DMG dealt to the Mace Boss. The items he drops are:

• Mace V1 Sword
  • 100% drop chance
  • Moves:
    • Earth Crash [Requires Sword Level 50]
      • Slam into the ground, dealing impact DMG to all nearby enemies
    • Bagua [Requires Sword Level 150]
      • Charge towards the enemy

• Coded Mask Accessory
  • 100% drop chance
  • Buffs:
    • Sword DMG increases by 5%
    • HP increases by 500

How to Get the Lava Key

The Lava Key is an item located on a wooden table close to the spawn area of the Marine Base Town. If you’re struggling to spot the table, look for a wooden table with four wooden chairs around it. Three of the chairs are pushed in, whereas the other has been knocked over.

What is the Lava Key Used For?

The reason you need the Lava Key is that it’s a necessary item to unlock the metal gate at the cave behind Marine Base Town. You cannot access this cave without the Lava Key.

If you want to spawn the Mace Boss, this cave and the Lava Key are the main requirements. Defeating the Mace Boss rewards you with the Coded Mask accessory and the Mace V1 Sword. I recommend the Coded Mask as it provides a great HP buff and a decent Sword DMG buff when equipped.
