Indie studio Eldelic Games has released Inky Blinky Bob on Steam. It’s a surreal action-adventure with stylised horror, absurdist humour, and some airborne combat. The whole thing revolves around flying a weaponised hot air balloon across a hostile archipelago.

In Inky Blinky Bob, you uncover the aftermath of dangerous biotech experiments

You play as a detective who investigates mysterious signals coming from a remote island chain. This chain is controlled by the secretive biotech corporation Quantum Corp. The case begins revealing failed experiments and mutated inhabitants.

Among them is a monstrous airborne entity that basically looms over the entire archipelago. That’s the Inky Blinky Bob, which, by the way, is totally opposite to its cute-sounding name! A grotesque flying octopus-balloon creature, you confront this main threat in the game.

Inky Blinky Bob shifts between exploring on foot and travelling through the air. So, you move across storm-swept coastlines, abandoned settlements, underground laboratories, and other strange locations.

At the centre of everything is your weaponised hot air balloon. It works as both a transport and a weapon platform, letting you travel between islands and fight enemies during airborne combat encounters. You gather materials to repair and upgrade the balloon so it can survive increasingly dangerous threats in the air.

Survival involves scavenging and resource management. You collect scrap, gears, metal sheets, and cloth to keep your equipment working. Simultaneously, you also manage limited medkits and ammunition.

Inky Blinky Bob has a stylised and surreal look, with exaggerated character designs and environments that make everything feel slightly off. This intentionally blurs the line between psychological horror and dark comedy. Watch a couple of trailers below!

Inky Blinky Bob is available now on Steam for PC for $14.99. There’s a 15% launch discount, which brings the price down to $12.70 for a week.
