Can Fruits Have The Gold and Rainbow Mutation At The Same Time in Grow a Garden?

In short, no, some mutations do not overlap, and this includes Gold and Rainbow. But why?

When a crop first begins to grow, it will either grow normally x1 Value, Golden x20 Value (1% chance), or Rainbow x50 Value (0.1% chance). Since they’re the base growth mutations, they cannot overlap. This is because a plant cannot spawn with two mutations at once.

But, some Pets aid in mutating, so can they not override the mutations, or lack of?

The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly hatches from the Anti-Bee Egg with a 1% chance. Every 30 minutes, it will travel to a random fruit with 5+ mutations, erase them all, and turn the plant Rainbow. Its sole function is to restart a crop with the highest growth mutation so that it can become more valuable long-term.

But the Butterfly isn’t the only pet that alters mutations. What if you also had a Dragonfly sharing a garden?

What About If You Had a Dragonfly?

Let’s say the Butterfly works its magic and erases the mutations of a plant and turns it Rainbow, and it’s in a garden with a Dragonfly. The Dragonfly has a 1% hatch chance from the Bug Egg and turns a random crop golden every 5 minutes. Will the Dragonfly ever attempt to add the golden mutation to the butterfly’s rainbow crop?

No… Unfortunately. This would defy all Grow a Garden logic and be a game-breaking revelation. So much so that I don’t think this guide would be the first place you’d hear about such an overpowered overlap.
