Ranks work differently for players and Shadows!

Player Ranks

Each time you increase in Rank, your overall DMG gets a +5 boost. When you’re a new player, you do not have a Player Rank, however, once you take part in the Rank Test, you are assigned your first Rank.

How to Unlock Your Rank

To get your first Rank, you must go to Solo Levelling Island. Head inside the tall building with blue pillars, a purple C at the top of the structure, and yellow lights on the side. Once inside, walk into one of the open elevators. After reaching the next floor, you can see a marker point for the Rank Test. Head to this area to find the NPC who tells you all about it!

The Rank Test includes a dungeon that tests your current power, damage output, and Shadows. Within the test dungeon, you must defeat a range of enemies within 10 minutes. For your first Rank Test, the enemies will be Rank E, and the dungeon is ‘Dark Dungeon’, which includes enemies from Solo City. There are 20 rooms to clear in total!

These tests are pretty tricky, so make sure you’ve upgraded and levelled your Shadows before heading in.

Shadow Ranks

The Ranks system for Shadows works a little differently from your Player Rank. As you defeat enemies, you can see they have specific Ranks. Choosing to ‘Arise’ downed enemies grants you a chance of obtaining them as a Shadow.

The current Rank of that enemy is reflected in their Shadow form (for example, defeating a Rank E enemy grants you a Rank E Shadow). To upgrade your Shadows, you must collect the same Shadow multiple times, covering all Ranks from E to S. The easiest way to do this is by completing dungeons/locations with the correct Rank and enemies that you need.
