Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game, the upcoming title by indie developer Giant Light Studios, has revealed a bunch of news. First of all, Matt Mercer, the voice behind some pretty iconic gaming characters, will be playing the role of Mr Magpie.

Secondly, the game was earlier announced for PC, but has now added console versions to its list, too. So, Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Gam will be arriving on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2027. It’ll also launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one and support Xbox Play Anywhere.

Mercer has voiced Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Minsc in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Vecna in Dead by Daylight. The announcement came during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase. Watch the trailer here!

Magpie is a creepy puppet who runs a questionable workplace

Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game is a surreal corporate horror deckbuilder with logical deduction and push-your-luck mechanics. You step into a workplace where the boss is a deranged puppet with a deeply concerning approach to performance management.

Your main goal is to earn cash and climb the corporate ladder. The basic idea revolves around flipping cards, collecting clues, and figuring out where the dangerous JERRY cards are hiding. Because these things will kill you.

There are also multiple character classes that dramatically change how you play, giving you different approaches to each run. Between runs, you can explore the workplace itself, poke around its stranger corners, and uncover whatever Mr Magpie conveniently left out of the employee handbook.
