Other Ocean has dropped the final trailer for 4 Penny Coffins. The horror investigation game is heading to Steam on October 27th, 2026, which is just in time for Halloween. The game will also be part of Steam Next Fest, which starts on October 19th, and its full demo will be available to play for free until October 26th.
Accuse your mate of being a demonic murderer!
Developed by Other Ocean Interactive and published by Other Ocean Group, 4 Penny Coffins is a horror and social investigation game revolving around a murder mystery. Up to eight players can take part in its online multiplayer mode, hunting down a hidden murderer through lies, changing alibis, suspicious behaviour, and actual evidence. There’s also a solo mode as well.
The central threat is The Ripper, a demonic murderer who can disguise himself and blend into the group. One player takes on the role of the rather unpleasant character, while the remaining players investigate the crimes and attempt to uncover the truth. The Ripper can bribe witnesses, smear fingerprints, tamper with evidence, redirect suspicion, and murder their pursuers one by one.
You need to gather evidence from crime scenes, question suspects, compare timelines, and piece together what really happened. Every murder leaves behind something that might help reveal the truth. Meanwhile, The Ripper has to keep everyone looking in the wrong direction without getting caught in the process.
4 Penny Coffins has a clear structure through a three-phase cycle that plays out every night
First, The Ripper hunts. Then, the players investigate. Finally, everyone enters the Conviction phase, where the collected evidence is presented, the accusations are made, and a verdict is delivered. Each round definitely ends with a resolution.
4 Penny Coffins also offers two different modes. Ripper Mode pits up to eight players against one another, with The Ripper hiding in plain sight. Magistrate Mode, meanwhile, lets one to five players work together against a relentless and elusive killer.
