You must’ve played plenty of escape room and point-and-click puzzle games with varied themes, but this title is one of its kind. Escape The Baby Alarm is a psychedelic escape room puzzle game about the absolute mess that comes with becoming a parent. The publisher Yotsuba Interactive just dropped the Escape The Baby Alarm demo on Steam.
The game is developed by Danish game developer Julie Normann Bjørnskov. It’s directly inspired by Julie’s own experience with parenthood, which explains why the situations in the game get so ridiculously specific.
You’ve got stuff like trying not to get sunscreen on your toothbrush and searching for your shoes in the fridge. Or smashing a box of chocolates accidentally on purpose because you’re running on fumes. And, of course, the most common thing most moms do: ending up with snacks in every pocket you own.

Visually, Julie uses bright pop art and hand-drawn scenes with surrealist and dreamlike elements for the game. It reflects the strange, foggy state of being completely exhausted. The latest trailer captures the tone, humour and heart of the game. Watch it here!
The puzzles in Escape The Baby Alarm are based on both practical thinking and emotional bandwidth. You deal with things like sleep deprivation, noisy baby monitors, and endless advice from mostly well-meaning people. But not every problem needs to be solved. Sometimes you just have to stop. Put everything down, step away from the chaos and breathe.
The game is about how becoming a parent changes your identity and basically forces you through your own kind of rebirth. You’re letting go of who you were before and slowly figuring out this new version of yourself, one that’s more exhausted, probably more worried, but also more resilient.
