Developer and publisher Luxorix Games has released its new tactical roguelike on PC today. Called Deadlock Station, it’s a roguelike where the actual fight is almost like a puzzle you’re solving before anything starts.
In Deadlock Station, you pick three characters and send them into an autobattle adventure against alien enemies. The characters move and act on their own, and you just influence the fight indirectly through positioning, abilities, equipment, and battlefield mechanics.
You can build spike walls, create defensive positions, make choke points, lure enemies into traps, push them onto hazards or land mines, and even use enemies themselves to help set up a better situation.
The gameplay most resembles Dungeon of the Endless, with some tower-defense elements that aren’t that similar, though. There are 10 distinct characters, and experimenting with different squad compositions and ability combinations is a big part of making each run feel different.
Deadlock Station also has some tech involved, including Energy Shields and Time Weapons. You need them as you’ll run into deadly Ravagers, outsmart Renegades, and deal with other dangerous alien threats across different environments and objectives.
The base-building and progression happen outside the battles, too. And there’s a lot of meta-progression here. Every successful run and Station upgrade expands your options, letting you unlock new quests, weapons, gear, and abilities.
You can also unlock new characters and factions, develop your base, strengthen your squad, and keep building out different combinations of abilities, equipment, and tactics. Meanwhile, as you explore unknown territories, you’ll uncover the truth behind the Event and work out what happened to humanity.

It’s now available on Steam for $9.99. You can take a look at the game before deciding if you want to go for it.
