I’ve said this multiple times before, and I’m saying it again. Games that come with a creative presentation always grab my attention. Woodo is such an upcoming game, which just dropped its demo for players to get a gist of it.
I like tiny handcrafted worlds, and Woodo brings just that. It’s a cosy 3D puzzle game that revolves around handcrafted wooden dioramas that start out frozen in time. The game’s developer is Tiny Monks Tales, while the publisher is Daedalic Entertainment.
So, Woodo is taking part in Steam Next Fest from June 15th to June 22nd. The Woodo demo is already live right now on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The demo for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive later this month.
Take a look at the game below.
Will you try the Woodo demo?
The adventure follows Foxy and Ben the Frog through a series of interconnected dioramas. Foxy is a city girl who gets sent to the countryside for the summer, where she becomes friends with Ben, a local villager. Their story touches on friendship, childhood, and summer adventures.
You look for the correct locations for wooden objects and place them into the scene piece by piece. Small items build into larger environments, eventually creating an entire Woodo world. It isn’t completely linear; you need to rotate and explore the 3D space to uncover hidden pieces.
Every new placement changes the scene, triggering playful animations and little surprises as the world becomes more colourful and lively. It actually makes you feel like you’re physically assembling a real toy.
Woodo is launching later this summer for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The current demo includes 2 levels and a menu.
