After years of its shutdown, publisher Acclaim is back with a big project. It’s Kidbash: Super Legend, which looks like a game straight out of PS3 and Dreamcast era. Developed by Authentic Remixes and Fat Raccoon, it’s coming to consoles and PC through Steam sometime in early 2027.
Kidbash: Super Legend brings a pretty, claymation world
The title has a claymation-inspired look with a handcrafted stop-motion vibe. It might even remind you of the Laika movies. Take a look at the latest trailer they dropped.
The game is set in a world called the O.D.D. It’s where forgotten video game characters end up living after the world moves on without them.
You play as Kidbash, who wakes up with amnesia and only remembers his own name. He tries to save the nearby village of Mandala, but completely fails at it. He then goes looking for training from the legendary mountain master Tao Shen Long.
Gameplay-wise, Kidbash: Super Legend is a roguelike action-platformer with fast combat. It’s full of colourful worlds, chaotic enemies, and replayability.
The devs have mentioned that the weapon mixing system is inspired by Kirby 64 vibes. You fill up a meter by beating enemies, then combine two weapons together to create stronger ones with different mechanics.
The game also has randomized mods that buff both combat and platforming. Those mods stack with your weapon combinations, too.
There’s also a village-building and meta progression system where you help forgotten characters rebuild their destroyed home. Meanwhile, the mountain area is filled with bosses that all have unique personalities and abilities.
Kidbash: Super Legend is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox Series next year. You can wishlist the game if you want to.
