What is Ocular Prowess

Pressing X, you’ll awaken your Ocular Prowess, a limited-time highlight with a duration lasting as long as the nifty bar on the left side of your screen.

During Ocular Prowess, your eyes glow with a random colour (chosen during resets), and the world around you will shift hues, outlining certain points of interest within your vicinity, such as players and enemy NPCs.

It also increases your reload speed and time, making this fleeting power a fast-acting buffer in the heat of conflict if you’re caught off guard or need to get the upper hand on adversaries.

Using Ocular Prowess

As explained, Ocular Prowess fine-tunes your reflexes and shows you the exact location of all players and NPCs within a radius of you whilst active. But how do you apply this to the game?

During the Can Quest, picked up by the NPC in front of Ridge B. County, you need to shoot a can thrown by the NPC Flint before it lands on the ground. Failing will cost you 100 Moola.

However, succeeding gives you +100 Moola and +30 EXP per completion.

If you harness Ocular Prowess, you can slow down the can mid-air and line up your shot more accurately, making this quest a little easier to complete. I also recommend reaching Tier 2 or 3 before trying, so that you have favourable stats heading in.

Note: Staring at the sun during Ocular Prowess will blind you, so be careful where you look in this mode.

Ocular Prowess also has its benefits during combat, or helping locate certain enemies and players if you’re on the lookout for anyone specific. For example, if a player manages to swipe a Corpse Part, you can hunt them down by triggering Ocular Prowess.

Or, use it as a getaway token by reloading quicker and dumping shots into any enemies on your tail. It’s a strange one-size-fits-all ability with multiple uses if you’re clever enough to exploit its passives.
