How to Open the Music Box in Dollhouse Bloodshed

To open the Music Box, you need to complete the Doll Limb puzzle. This puzzle entails finding all four missing Doll Limbs around the mansion. If, like me, you picked them up only to discard them in random spots, you might struggle to locate them. Trust me, it really threw me for a loop during my first playthrough.

After completing the Doll Limb puzzle, you’re rewarded with a Toy Key. This Toy Key opens the Music Box in the bedroom, which houses the Exit Key. As the name suggests, the Exit Key is super important, and you can’t reach the Dollhouse Bloodshed ending without it.

Doll Limb Locations

Getting right into it, the possible locations of each of the Doll Limbs are:

• Left Arm
  • 1 – In the Attic (must acquire the Attic Key beforehand)
• Right Arm
  • 1 – In a drawer within the Doll Head Shelf room
• Left Leg
  • 1 – In a drawer in the main lobby of the mansion (where the staircase is, which leads you to the second floor)
• Right Leg
  • 1- In a drawer in the room with a TV
  • 2 – This limb can also be found on the table in the lobby area sometimes

Keep in mind that these Doll Limbs appear in different locations for each playthrough, but the ones listed above are where I’ve most commonly found them. Three of these Doll Limbs are pretty easy to find, but it’s the Left Arm that requires you to progress through a couple of puzzles beforehand.

Obtaining the Toy Key

Once all four Doll Limbs have been attached to the Horrifying Doll, a spindly arm breaks through, holding the Toy Key – handy. Head to the bedroom on the second floor to find the Music Box on a set of drawers. A doll’s head pops out, and you have to wait a few seconds for it to drop the Exit Key.

Rewind… How Do You Unlock the Horrifying Doll?

If you’ve stumbled upon the Music Box on the second floor before completing the picture puzzle, you need to solve the latter first. The picture puzzle requires the square picture sewn into a painting in the dining room downstairs.

To get this square picture, you need to obtain the Letter Opener, which is on a table in the bathroom. With the Letter Opener, you can cut the square piece out to place it on the picture puzzle on the second floor. Keep in mind that there is one other square piece you must find, but it’s much easier to get. It’s located on the second floor of the Library.

After adding the missing square pieces to the picture puzzle, you then need to arrange each piece to complete the painting. Then, a secret room is unlocked, where the Horrifying Doll resides.
