It’s tricky to pick our favourite titles that are due to release next year, but we managed to whittle down our selection for this Best Upcoming Games in 2026 feature.

Best Upcoming Games in 2026

Which games are we looking forward to the most in 2026? No matter the genre, these titles are on our radar!

Witchbrook

A lesson taking place in Witchbrook. The professor speaks with the students about herbal tea.

Witchbrook is one of my personal favourite upcoming games. A pixelated RPG where you play as a witch? It was made for me. It features town events, daily tasks, and lots of residents to build relationships with, kind of like Stardew Valley! But, Witchbrook is its own game entirely.

Go to classes in Witchbrook College to improve your magical abilities whilst working through assignments and exams. Find romance and develop friendships in Mossport City, with a wide variety of characters to interact with.

You can customise your character, experiment with clothes, and decorate your cottage to your own tastes. Tend to the garden to grow plants, start your own business, and sell your own products at the market in Witchbrook.

Subnautica 2

A strange aquatic creature swims towards the camera underwater in Subnautica 2.

The first game is an absolute classic, so of course, we’re excited for the second instalment! Embark on a new deep-sea adventure in Subnautica 2, with more biomes and creatures to discover.

With new tools and vehicles to build, it’s bound to be a hit with fans of the original and those who have never played the game before.

My Eerie Lair

The two main characters from My Eerie Lair. One of them is on the ground chained to the wall as the other stands a few steps away, his character portrait appearing to the right.

This game won’t be for everyone, but it’s one for me. Cosy vampire game with dark romance themes? Yes please. Set in a vampire’s castle, your task is to decorate to your heart’s content as the bride-to-be of Victor.

The thing is, Victor is your captor. As you decorate each room, you learn more about his story. You never know, maybe you’ll warm up to him?

The customisation is endless as you can change the colour of lighting, the orientation of each piece of furniture, and the overall vibe of the living space.

Bloody Hell Hotel

A POV from Bloody Hell Hotel as the player holds up a metal lid with a plate that has a burger on it in the other hand.

You’re a vampire working in a hotel! Your grandiose house is now in ruins, so what else to do than to make it into a hotel instead? It’s your job to keep visitors happy, whilst keeping stock of food and resources.

Improve the hotel by decorating, cleaning, and fixing anything that’s broken. Sounds like a chore? You’re a vampire, so you can speed it up! If you’re running low on food and energy, you have an unlimited source of blood right there in the hotel. Guests make for a good meal.

Speaking of meals, by collecting ingredients, you can follow recipes to cook up a bunch of dishes for your guests. You won’t be doing this all alone, though, as you can hire staff to help out.

There are even dungeons to delve into, where you can wield powerful weapons to defeat enemies. Dungeons are a great way to obtain resources and new upgrades for the hotel.

Don’t Stop, Girlypop!

A pink vortex as the player holds a pink gun with a tamagotchi-like device to the left with a dinosaur on the screen wearing a cowboy hat in Don't Stop Girlypop.

A Y2K boomer shooter that oozes style, action, and bubblegum pink. You have to move around as quickly as possible without stopping to increase the amount of damage you deal to enemies with your weapons. Jumping, hopping waves, and dashing help to maintain your speed.

As you progress, you can unlock new decorations for your guns and your character’s arms. From new paint colours to accessories, you can showcase your style while slaying literally and figuratively.

Paralives

A city street in Paralives as characters engage in conversations in front of a lamp shop. Another character sits a table outside a cafe with a cup of coffee.

Paralives has been on the radar for a long time as a major competitor to the Sims franchise. One of the main highlights for me is the freedom with customisation, for both your characters and home decor.

It has a unique art style and certainly seems like it can tick all the boxes for Sims fans like myself. Like the Sims, it is a life simulator, taking place in immersive locations as characters interact with each other and go about their day.
