Fish It Fluorescent Rod

The Fluorescent Rod is one of the first two rods ever sold by the Traveling Merchant NPC, found in a small tented boat to the right of the Spin Wheel on Fisherman Island. This rod costs (roughly) 60k+. The reason I don’t know the exact price is that the rod itself obscures the price in the wares window. For your [obscured] amount of [kromer], you’ll gain the rod with its following stats:

• Luck: 300%
• Speed: 23%
• Maximum Weight: 160 KG

Fluorescent VS Hazmat

Like the Hazmat, the Fluorescent Rod boasts a Legendary Rarity. But does that make them equals? Well, for starters, the Hazmat is significantly more expensive, costing between 1 million and 2 million. And, for that price, you get much more favourable stats.

That said, the Fluorescent isn’t all that far behind the Hazmat, and between the two, they’re not even the best rods in the game. I personally think either makes fine choices as mid-game rods to aid in your progression. Plus, with the help of enchanting, we can take the cheaper Fluorescent Rod and enhance it to mimic that of the Hazmat, for a fraction of the price!

Best Enchant For The Fluorescent Rod

If you choose to enchant this tool, I recommend Empowered I, which has a 7% pull rate when enchanting Rods. Empowered I helps enhance the Fluorescent Rod’s key stats so that it more closely resembles the Hazmat Rod. It does this by applying a +20% Luck Boost and +10% Faster Reel Speed.
