Depending on where you are progress-wise in Fish It and what rod you use can make a huge difference. We’ll break down the Fish It Rod Progression into early, mid, and late stages of gameplay, so you know which Rods to use when.
Fish It Rod Progression
I’ve broken it down into early, mid, and late stages of gameplay.
Early Stages
Once you first begin playing, you will have the Starter Rod. This is the worst rod available, and it doesn’t offer much. Catch a few fish and sell them to make some profit, and then purchase either the Luck Rod or the Carbon Rod. The Carbon Rod is slightly better, as it can hold more weight and has a higher speed. However, the Luck Rod has 50% Luck, while the Carbon Rod has 30%.
If you want to save your cash, the Lava Rod is a great option, as it is free! It has 30% Luck, 2% Speed, and can hold 100kg in weight, making it better than both the Luck and Carbon Rod. To get it, all you need to do is speak to the Lava Fisherman NPC in the Volcano.
Mid Stages
After you have a good early rod, you’ll be able to start catching better fish that sell for more. Eventually, you will want a better rod, as the early stages won’t help you catch the rarer fish. Here, I suggest the Midnight Rod. This costs 50k, and it has 100% Luck, 10% Speed, and can hold 10k kg.
However, the Steampunk Rod is also a great choice if you can hold off on splurging. This costs 215k, and it has 225% luck, 19% speed, and can hold 25kg.
Late Stages
Now, onto the late stages. There are two options. First, the Chrome Rod. This costs 437k and it has a huge 280% Luck, 23% Speed, and can hold 190k kg.
If you can hold off on spending, then turn to the Fluorescent Rod. It has 300% Luck, 23% Speed, and 160k kg. Or, if you can save your cash for longer, the Astal Rod is a solid choice. It’s the best you can purchase from the shop, as it has 400% Luck, 43% Speed, and holds 350k kg. Sadly, it costs a very 1 million… so it may take a while to get.
