99 Nights in the Forest Meteor Badges
The 4 new event badges for the Meteor Shower update!
Astrogeology
To get the Astrogeology Meteor Badge, you need to open an Obsidiron Chest. However, to get an Obsidiron Chest, you must craft it! To craft this type of chest, make your way to the Meteor Anvil. Can’t see it on your map? That’s because it only spawns after a Meteor Shower occurs. Once the Meteor Shower ends, an anvil icon appears, indicating where you can find the Meteor Anvil.
Meteor Showers occur once you reach day 5, but they spawn randomly, so there is no guarantee. After walking into the building where the Meteor Anvil is, you need to fight off the Meteor Crabs. Pick up the anvil parts around the building to build the Meteor Anvil. Interact with the anvil once it’s built to craft the Obsidiron Chest blueprint. The materials you need are:
- 5 Gold Shard
- 10 Meteor Shards
- 3 Obsidiron Ingots
You can get Meteor Shards and Gold Shards by mining the various meteors around the Meteor Crate. Gold Shards are rarer than Meteor Shards, though! For Obsidiron Ingots, you need to collect Raw Obsidiron Ore from the meteors, but like the Gold Shards, they’re quite rare.
After getting Raw Obsidiron Ore, you must drop it from a high point to break it. Put the Broken Obsidiron Ore into a pool of lava within the Meteor Crater, turning it into a Scalding Obsidiron Ore. Next, place it into a pool of water to cool it down, which then turns it into the required Obsidiron Ingot.
Rewards
- 5 Diamonds
- 3 Blue Flames
Seismology
For the Seismology badge, you have to break 25 meteors. These are the same meteors that you need to mine to obtain Meteor Shards, Gold Shards, and Raw Obsidian Ore. All you have to do is find 25 of them, break them completely, and then you unlock the Seismology badge!
Rewards
- 5 Diamonds
- 3 Blue Flames
Exogeology
Similar to the Seismology badge, you need to defeat a certain number of Meteor-themed things to unlock it. For this one, you must defeat 20 Meteor Crabs, which mainly spawn inside the Meteor Anvil building that spawns after a Meteor Shower.
Rewards
- 5 Diamonds
- Meteor Lamp (furniture item)
Astrophysics
Unlocking the Astrophysics badge requires the Meteor Anvil. You can find out how to use the Meteor Anvil by reading the Astrogeology badge section above in this guide! Once you can use the Meteor Anvil, you need to craft 5 items to get the Astrophysics badge.
Rewards
- 5 Diamonds
- Crater Rug (furniture item)
