Obtaining the Fisch Magma Rod isn’t as simple as purchasing it from a merchant! Instead, you need to complete a quest for an NPC found outside of the Roslit Volcano.

Fisch Magma Rod

If you want to fish in Roslit Volcano to catch the pyro-inspired fish, you need a Magma Rod. I was excited when I found a passageway when exploring Roslit into a glowing volcanic cave next to a glowing campsite, only to be met with disappointment as my fishing rod sizzled and came back up whenever I tried to fish in the lava. It’s to be expected really… I don’t know why I thought a regular rod would work!

How to Fish in Roslit Volcano

Anyway, the solution to this problem is to unlock the Magma Rod. It isn’t the strongest rod across the board, however, it’s the only rod that allows you to fish in the volcano cave. This is great when filling out your Roslit Volcano Bestiary page, and when collecting a wide range of fish to sell for coins. The lava pool is the only area where the firey fish can be located!

How to Get the Magma Rod

You need to speak to the Orc NPC! When wandering around the safe zones in Roslit Volcano, there’s a little tunnel that leads you to the outdoors. With the lava to your left, head forward to spot a gap in the wall. Keep walking, head through the leaves, and you’ll exit the cave!

Turn your camera to the right to see a tent, which is where the Orc stands, holding a large rock in his hands. Interact with him to start his quest! He asks for a singular Pufferfish and will reward you with a Magma Rod upon completion.

Where to Find Pufferfish

Pufferfish commonly reside in the Ocean and at Roslit Bay. It’s a Rare type fish, so it’s not going to appear as often as others. But, to increase your chances, you can fish for them when the in-game season is Summer, whilst using Seaweed as bair. To make it easier, head to the Pufferfish Abundance location at Roslit Coral Reef, which you can find at -1435, 125, 460.
