If you want to try out a neon-noir retrofuturistic version of 2071 on consoles, your wish has been granted. Au Revoir, the point-and-click adventure from indie dev Invisible Studio is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17th, 2026.
Au Revoir already landed on PC via Steam in January 2025. An immersive narrative adventure, it includes investigation, moral dilemmas, mystery, and conspiracy in a dystopian future. One of the game’s biggest inspirations was Westwood Studios’ 1997 classic Blade Runner.
Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 2 from the original PlayStation were also important influences, particularly when it came to the puzzles and visuals. The team wanted to capture that very specific 32-bit game aesthetic from the 1990s.
Au Revoir is set in 2071
A future where immortality has become something only wealthy people can afford. The company Au Revoir Ltd. controls the market for synthetic brains capable of storing human consciousness. Sentinels are responsible for finding the stored minds and carrying out the process of recovering them and transferring them into new bodies.
You take on the role of Tristan, a Sentinel working for Au Revoir Ltd. His job is to recover human consciousnesses stored inside synthetic brains. But he begins questioning who he actually is and whether his own memories can be trusted, eventually suspecting that there may be flaws in his own synthetic brain. Like Ghost in the Shell.
As Tristan, you explore interactive environments and collect documents and clues. You also solve unique puzzles and make decisions that influence how the story develops. Tristan can also use his car to travel through different areas, where he meets different characters. The environments are full of details, and the characters all have their own personalities, motivations, ambitions, and hidden secrets.
