Indie publisher Shueisha Games and developer Acrobatic Chirimenjako have dropped a new accolades trailer for their latest title, Schrödinger’s Call. The video shows off all the positive reactions the game has earned since its launch last month.
Available on PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch, Schrödinger’s Call made it as a finalist in The Indie Premier game showcase during Anthrocon 2026. The game follows the idea of human connection, exploring both its pain and its ability to save people.
The title draws from the famous Schrödinger’s Cat paradox in quantum physics. It explores how uncertainty can shape human empathy and the connections we form during difficult times. Even in the game, there’s a cat that constantly keeps appearing alongside the protagonist.
So, what exactly is Schrödinger’s Call?
The world has reached its last 21 nanoseconds before the moon crashes into Earth and wipes out all life. Twenty-one nanoseconds separate life from death. Right in those final moments, a girl named Mary wakes up inside a strange room with absolutely no memories of who she is or how she got there.
Then she meets a mysterious cat named Hamlet, and ends up becoming the world’s last confidant. From there, everything revolves around a single old telephone. Mary starts answering calls from people who are trapped somewhere between life and death after the moon’s fall interrupted their final moments.
Every phone call belongs to someone carrying unfinished feelings, lingering regrets, words they never got to say, emotions they never fully realised, or someone they desperately wanted to see one last time.
As Mary listens to every caller, she writes down their lingering regrets chapter by chapter and walks alongside the voices on the other end of the line. Each conversation slowly uncovers stories filled with love, pain, comfort, hope, and everything people carry with them at the end.
Schrödinger’s Call is like an illustrated storybook, with warm visuals and a theatrical style. It’s up for grabs on Nintendo Switch and Steam, supports a single player, and is priced at $17.99.
