Once you know how all of the Animal Hospital events work, you’ll know exactly how to deal with any emergency that crops up. Speaking of, some events are classed as emergencies in Animal Hospital, which are time-sensitive.

Some items can help to beat each event; read my Animal Hospital Best Items guide to see which you should bring along.

Animal Hospital Events

Events have a chance to spawn during a run, adding an extra challenge for you and your teammates. There are different ways to beat each event, but it depends on what the event entails.

Fire in the Hospital

A patient room in the hospital can randomly catch fire, even if there isn’t a patient in there. If you stand too close to the fire, your Sanity depletes by 1 to 3 every second.

You can put fires out with your hands, but this method is much slower. The best way to deal with a fire is by using a Fire Extinguisher, which you can find outside the Supply Shop. Fire Extinguishers have Charges and can be recharged by returning the item to its original location.

If you don’t put out the fire, any patients that walk into the room will faint; however, if they don’t faint, then this proves that the patient is a Shapeshifter anomaly.

Ambulance

The Ambulance event starts at Shift 4. It begins with an announcement that there has been an Anomaly Attack and that you should prepare for the arrival of the ambulance.

Six patients will run into the hospital, all of whom are in critical condition or on fire. They immediately look for a free room. You and your teammates must treat the patients as quickly as possible. Completing the event rewards you with extra cash.

From the first Ambulance event, they’ll reoccur every 5 shifts, with more and more patients each time. There’s a chance of at least one Amomaly in each ambulance, adding to the challenge.

Emergency Events

As the name suggests, Emergency Events are indeed an emergency. They are time-sensitive, which means you need to solve them as quickly as possible.

A Patient is on Fire

Just like how patient rooms can suddenly combust, so can patients. You have 60 seconds to extinguish the fire, which you can do by using the Fire Extinguisher or by interacting with the NPC.

With a Fire Extinguisher, the patient is fully healed, but without the item, they will need to be treated after the fire has been put out.

When a Patient Faints

Patients can faint as soon as they check in, but they are more likely to faint if they walk into a room that is on fire. If they are shot with the Gun item or hit by the Taster item, they will faint.

Once the patient collapses, you have 60 seconds to take them to a room.

Tendrils

When a patient is recovering in the Surgery Room [Room 8], there’s a chance for tendrils to erupt from the patient. You have 45 seconds to complete the mini-game to save them. You cannot use the Taser or the Gun to attack the tendrils, as this will kill the patient.

Patient Being Eaten By a Monster

If there is a room with a Bed Monster, there’s a chance that it will grab a patient when they leave the room. You have 30 seconds to save the patient. Apparently, using Maple Syrup or an Organ can help.

Critical Condition

When an ambulance arrives, there’s a chance for patients to enter the hospital in critical condition. You have 1 to 2 minutes to help the patient recover, which involves more than just taking them to a bed.

The Death Ritual

A room that is occupied may be used for a Death Ritual. If this event is active, the door to the room takes longer to open. Once you enter the room, you will find the patient floating in the air with candles around them. You have 40 seconds to get rid of all the candles, and each candle you remove depletes your Sanity by 1-3.

To prevent the loss of Sanity, you can use the Taser to save the patient, which means you’ll have to treat them afterwards. You can also use Eye Drops, IV Drops, and Coffee.
