The debut game from Turbo Dog Games, Spiritstead, now has a release date. It’s launching for PC on Steam on August 6th, 2026. The title is a cosy city-builder like Tiny Glade and Dorfromantik, and you might even spot some parts similar to Stardew Valley.

Spiritstead starts you off with just a handful of homes on a quiet patch of enchanted land. You turn it into a lively village by giving people jobs and adding places like cafés, markets, farms, bonfires, and taverns. You’ll also unlock more buildings, decorations, and upgrades as you keep expanding.

Turbo Dog Games also shared where the inspiration came from. The team grew up watching Hayao Miyazaki’s films and love the warmth, wonder, and cosiness of those worlds. With Spiritstead, they wanted to capture that same comforting feeling. The hand-drawn visuals really bring that out in the game.

Spiritstead involves a lot of magic, too!

The game’s highlight is the spirits. You discover them by interacting with the world and stumbling across little surprises hidden around the map. Every spirit has its own appearance and special abilities.

Once you find them, they can help care for your villagers, manage different parts of the town, and automate everyday tasks. You can even collect all of them so they live alongside your people, then build special spirit buildings that support them.

There are two different ways to play Spiritstead. Adventure Mode is the more structured option, where you gradually grow the settlement and eventually restore the Grand Spirit Sanctuary to bring balance between spirits and humans.

And if you’re more interested in just making the prettiest village imaginable, there’s Creative Mode. This one lets you freely build, decorate, redesign, and experiment however you want. It’s like a living colouring book filled with personality, handcrafted artwork, and tiny details.

Spiritstead is launching on Steam on August 6th for $9.99.
