Know which Traits to roll for with my Shells Traits Tier List. Once you’re happy with the Tools you have, you should spend your Pearls in Shells to make them even better.

Shells Traits Tier List

With Traits, your Tools become much stronger, increasing your chances of collecting the rarest Shells.

S Tier

• Refined
  • 2.8% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 30%
• Night Owl
  • 1.9% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 35% during the nighttime (in-game)
• Blessed
  • 1.9% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Common and Uncommon rarity Shells are removed from the loot pool
• Pristine
  • 1.6% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 50%
• Last Stand
  • 1.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 60% when your inventory is at 90% or more capacity
• Celestial
  • 0.24% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 80%
• Transcendent
  • 0.024% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 150%, ignoring the usual Stat caps
• Rake
  • 0.024% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • You collect an additional Shell each time
• All or Nothing
  • 0.024% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Every Shell you collect is either at least Legendary rarity or is the most Common rarity Shell in the zone

A Tier

• Honed
  • 3.8% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 15%
• Chain
  • 2.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 40% for 10 seconds when you collect a rare Shell
• Obsessed
  • 2.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 5% per minute you spend in the same zone
      • Caps at 35%
• Veteran
  • 1.9% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased per 100 Shells collected
      • Caps at 50%
• Refined Taste
  • 1.9% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Common rarity Shells are removed from the loot pool
• Dawn Breaker
  • 1.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 50% as the sun rises (in-game), which lasts for 60 seconds

B Tier

• Heavy Lifter
  • 6.1% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Maximum Weight increases by 20%
• Accelerated
  • 6.1% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Speed increases by 20%
• Lucky
  • 6.1% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 20%
• Mutant
  • 6.1% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Mutation Chance increases by 20%
• Sturdy
  • 6.1% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by 5%
• Streak
  • 2.8% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 3% per Shell since your last rare collection
      • Caps at 60%
• Underdog
  • 2.8% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • All Stats are increased by up to 40%
      • Scales with the emptiness of your inventory
• Hungry
  • 2.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 2% per second while you are idle since your last collection
      • Caps at 50%

C Tier

• Tainted
  • 9.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Mutation Chance increases by 5%
• Sharp Eye
  • 9.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Luck increases by 5%

D Tier

• Nimble
  • 9.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Speed increases by 5%
• Packed
  • 9.4% chance to drop
  • Buff:
    • Maximum Weight increases by 5%

How to Get New Traits in Shells

To get Traits in Shells, you need to spend Pearls. As a premium currency, Pearls differ from the Shellings you get when selling the Shells you collect, but you can earn more by progressing through the game and potentially by redeeming codes for free rewards.

Each Trait Reroll costs 100 Pearls or 1 Lucky Roll. Every Tool you obtain can have a Trait, but I recommend saving your Pearls and Lucky Rolls for your strongest ones. Traits are only worth it when you’ve managed to get Tools with the highest stats.
