We’re back with another upcoming cosy game called Mirth Island. It’s a rhythm adventure game from developer Clay Game Studio and publisher SOEDESCO from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. They’re aiming for a 2026 launch window on both PC and consoles.
Remember Mirth Melody? Well, Mirth Island is an indirect sequel to it. Mirth Melody, a rhythm game that launched in August 2024, received a warm reception from players. So, it makes sense that the devs are leaning hard into the musical side again.
Mirth Island is full of charm
You play as a young duck Dodo whose acting career basically crashes and burns. So, he heads back home to Mirth Island, trying to figure out what to do with his life now. Except when he gets there, the legendary theatre that inspired him when he was younger is completely falling apart.
Then, Dodo teams up with his childhood friends Vivi and Rita to rebuild the old community theatre piece by piece. And that includes helping all the island locals with their random everyday problems, making friends, recruiting performers, and fixing the stage.
The island is a bright, colourful, cosy little world with cute animals, quirky characters, surreal scenery, handcrafted environments, and different biomes. Every corner of the island tells its own story. Take a look at the game below.
Mirth Island has rhythm-based minigames throughout the quests and story. They come with playful animations and warm, cheerful music that accentuates the whole adventure.
Every fix is supposed to bring the island residents closer together and reignite the creative spark the island used to have. Very cosy. And maybe a bit emotional, too.
Mirth Island is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. You can wishlist or pre-order on your preferred platform now.
