INSIDE, LIMBO, and Little Nightmares. These atmospheric puzzle-platformer games have been an inspiration to multiple games. The latest being DOSMIC, which tries to bring similar dark, mysterious, and creepy vibes.

The indie horror game is coming in 2026. Cosmic horror, giant monsters, and pure nightmare fuel are all part of this title. Made by Black Cheeze, who are also publishing it themselves, it’s a 3D cinematic puzzle-platformer with a fixed camera perspective.

So even though it’s fully 3D, it’s presented in a really deliberate cinematic way instead of giving players a free camera. The developer wanted the visuals and atmosphere to carry the storytelling, so the entire game has no text and no spoken dialogue at all.

What does DOSMIC mean?

The name comes from the words Dark and Cosmic Horror. Storywise, the world gets wrecked by a disaster, and a girl named Snoa disappears. Another kid, Nero, ends up wandering through a completely broken world full of massive, horrifying beings trying to find her.

It’s a bizarre, dreamlike place, where you constantly sneak around giant, grotesque entities that either stare at you from far away or actively hunt you down. And Nero is quite tiny compared to everything else. So, you squeeze through spaces the monsters can’t reach and try not to get flattened immediately.

Nero slowly gains abilities as the journey goes on. Double jumps, gliding, more fluid movement, and all that. He also attains a mysterious power where he awakens at the edge of death. You can use that power to break through the core of the giant entities and claim whatever’s hidden inside them.

A lot of the puzzles in DOSMIC use 3D spatial awareness and are deeply connected to the world’s secrets and hidden truths. The game is about observation and intuition. And the journey is what matters the most, especially since Nero starts as just an ordinary kid. Take a look at the game below.

The initial release for DOSMIC is planned for PC through Steam, and right now, the target window is July 2026. There’s already a demo available, too.
