With so many Metroidvania games out there, you’d think that you wouldn’t be interested in another one. But not in the case of Magical Blush. With fast spell combat and cute anime vibes, it’s an upcoming title for PC that will release in the next quarter.
The game is being made by Alkacer Game Studio and published by Dangen Entertainment. It offers top-down action-adventure gameplay where you’re constantly chaining elemental spells together. Set in an interconnected fantasy world called Wyn, you play as a girl named Arnin.
You juggle elemental weaknesses, combo attacks, gear upgrades, and movement abilities. And besides that, you fight everything, from smaller, annoying enemies to giant Elemental Lords.
Now, Arnin can use Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Spirit magic. Each one has strengths, weaknesses, and neutral matchups. Timing and choosing the right magic matter a lot. There’s also a Combo Counter system that upgrades and evolves spells as you keep fighting.
Since it’s a Metroidvania game, Magical Blush has a world full of branching paths, hidden secrets, and rewarding backtracking. It has interconnected stages where exits can lead to new places or loop back into familiar areas with new abilities unlocking fresh routes.
You can also equip Arnin with different gear to customise your playstyle. Unlock special traversal abilities that open new paths and dig around for hidden lore that eventually reveals what’s actually happening in Wyn. There are even minigames scattered throughout the world, too.
Magical Blush tells the story of Arnin
She’s a powerful mage who acts as guardian of the Elemental Lords. After coming back from the astral plane, she finds the kingdom completely wrecked. Somebody released the Elemental Lords and unleashed chaotic magic across the land.
So, now she travels through Wyn to rescue survivors, fight through elemental disasters, and figure out who caused the havoc. You can check out the Steam demo for Magical Blush before the game launches.
