Let’s find out how to get Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Champions, and if they make any difference to your team. To play Pokemon Champions, you can do so on the Nintendo Switch, but there is a planned release for iOS and Android devices in the near future.

How to Get Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Champions

As with most Pokemon games, getting a Shiny Pokemon requires pure RNG. In Pokemon Champions, you obtain new Pokemon by recruiting them at the Roster Ranch with Victory Points (VP), Teammate Tickets, and Quick Coupons. Each time you do this, there’s a small chance for a Shiny to appear.

Roster Ranch Recruitment

When you recruit new Pokemon in Pokemon Champions, you need to keep a close eye on the bushes. If the bush has sparkles around it, then congratulations, you’ve caught a Shiny. However, if the bush is accompanied by floating bubbles instead of just sparkles, there’s a high chance it’s not a Shiny.

These Shiny Pokemon have a chance to spawn on both the Trial Recruitment and Permanent Recruitment options. The Trial Recruitment grants you temporary access to the Pokemon, though, so I recommend focusing on the latter.

Pokemon HOME

If you’ve played Pokemon before, especially in recent years, you probably already have Pokemon HOME installed on at least one of your devices.

Any Shiny Pokemon that you’ve previously caught in other games, as long as you’re storing them in Pokemon HOME, can be transferred over to Pokemon Champions. This is by far the easiest way of getting a Shiny, though it does require you to have gotten them in a compatible Pokemon title.

The same goes for if you manage to catch a Shiny in Pokemon Champions, as you can instantly send it to your Pokemon HOME app instead of adding it to a team.

For new players or those who haven’t dabbled in Pokemon HOME yet, you can download it on iOS, Android, and the Nintendo Switch. Essentially, it’s a storage system for your Pokemon and a useful tool when trading Pokemon with others. The app itself allows you to move your Pokemon between various titles, as long as they are compatible.

What Are Shiny Pokemon?

They’ve been a feature in Pokemon titles for many years, but due to their rarity, some fans have never had a chance to obtain them. To spot the difference between a Shiny and a regular Pokemon, you need to look at their colour palettes. Shiny variants feature different colours from the original. Plus, when you’ve found a Shiny, there tends to be sparkles.

It’s important to remember that Shiny Pokemon do not have additional abilities or stronger stats. They feature only a cosmetic difference. Collecting them is a fun project when you’ve completed the Pokedex in any Pokemon game.
