What are the best mutations in Garden Horizons? Any mutation is better than none, as they all provide a plant value multiplier. Need new plants for your plot in Garden Horizons? Read my Stock guide to see what you can buy seed-wise and gear-wise.

Best Mutations in Garden Horizons

These mutations are the best ones to get for the plants in your garden. To determine this, I’ve taken note of the plant value multipliers that each mutation provides.

Muddy

  • Increases plant value by 5x
  • How to Get:
    • A plant must have both the Sandy and Flooded/Soaked mutations to become Muddy

Gold

  • Increases plant value by 5x
  • How to Get:
    • There’s a chance for any plant to get the Gold mutation at random

Shocked

  • Increases plant value by 4.5x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Storm weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Shocked mutation

Starstruck

  • Increases plant value by 6.5x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Starfall weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Starstruck mutation

Frostbit

  • Increases plant value by 3.5x
  • How to Get:
    • A plant must have the Snowy and Soaked mutations to become Frostbit

Mossy

  • Increases plant value by 3.5x
  • How to Get:
    • A plant must have both the Foggy and Chilled mutations to become Mossy

All Mutations

While I haven’t placed these mutations in the ‘best’ section, they’re still worth knowing about.

Foggy

  • Increases plant value by 1.25x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Fog weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Foggy mutation

Snowy

  • Increases plant value by 2x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Snow weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Snowy mutation

Chilled

  • Increases plant value by 1.5x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Snow weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Chilled mutation

Sandy

  • Increases plant value by 2.5x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Sandstorm weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Sandy mutation

Soaked

  • Increases plant value by 1.2x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Rain weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Soaked mutation

Flooded

  • Increases plant value by 1.75x
  • How to Get:
    • When the Rain weather event is active, there’s a chance for a random plant to get the Flooded mutation

Unripe

  • Increases plant value by 1x to 1.9x
  • How to Get:
    • Plants can potentially get this mutation when they start to grow

Ripe

  • Increases plant value by 2x to 2.9x
  • How to Get:
    • After a plant gains the Unripe mutation, there’s a chance for it to get the Ripe mutation after some time

Lush

  • Increases plant value by 3x
  • How to Get:
    • After a plant gains the Ripe mutation, there’s a chance for it to get the Lush mutation after some time

Silver

  • Increases plant value by 2x
  • How to Get:
    • There’s a chance for any plant to get the Silver mutation at random, but it is much more common than the Gold mutation

Mutations That Can’t Stack

While there are some mutations that can stack to turn into other mutations, there are others that cannot stack at all. These are:

  • Flooded and Soaked
  • Snowy and Chilled

Unconfirmed Mutations

These mutations are yet to be confirmed regarding the plant value multiplier and how to obtain them.

Rainbow

  • Increases plant value by TBC
  • How to Get:
    • TBC

Galactic

  • Increases plant value by 6x
  • How to Get:
    • Possible Admin Event mutation (TBC)

Electric

How to Get Mutations in Garden Horizons

Mutations are obtainable during certain weather events and at random as plants grow. These mutations are never a guarantee, but if the requirements are met, then there’s a chance for them to appear on your plants.

Some mutations are stackable, which either turn into new mutations or simply increase the plant value multiplier further. I recommend waiting for your plants to get at least one mutation before selling them, though the more mutations a plant has, the better.

The best mutations in Garden Horizons are all obtained at random after certain criteria are met
