The Fisch Astraeus Serenade Quest becomes quite complex, requiring specific items, tasks to complete, and more. Many Fisch players are comparing this secretive rod to another rod that was equally cryptic. Whether you’re a new player or a veteran, you’ve probably heard of the Fisch Brick Rod!

How to Get the Astraeus Serenade Rod

Firstly, you need to pick up the quest from Astraeus, who can be found in Astraeus’ Void. To get to Astraeus’ Void, head to the Underground Music Venue and complete the Spirit of Light and Spirit of Darkness quests.

Unlocking Astraeus’ Void

After completing the Spirit of Darkness and Spirit of Light quests, you must interact with the three instruments in the Underground Music Venue when the Starfall event is active. Here’s how to complete the quests:

Spirit of Darkness Quest

The Spirit of Darkness can be found on Cursed Isle during the night. You need to obtain the following items:

• Driftwood
• Resin
• Molten Ripple

After collecting these items and handing them over to the Spirit of Darkness, you obtain the Astronomical Fretboard.

Spirit of Light Quest

The Spirit of Light can be found at the Glacial Grotto when it is nighttime, windy, and you’re holding a Heavenly Flying Fish. This NPC requires you to obtain a Blessed Moon Wood, and in return, you obtain Twilight Pegs.

Astraeus Quest

Once you’re in Astraeus’ Void, you can pick up the required quest for the Astraeus Serenade fishing rod. He asks for:

• 50 million coins
• 1x Dusky Thread

• 1x Astronomical Fretboard (you obtain this via the Spirit of Darkness quest!)
• 1x Twilight Pegs (you obtained this via the Spirit of Light quest!)
• 1x Nova Resin
  • Location: Mushgrove Swamp
• 1x Lunar Scrap Metal
  • Location: Crystal Cove, Mineshaft, The Depths
• 2x Serene String
  • Location: Desolate Deep
• 1x Celestial Colossal Ethereal Dragon
  • Location: Crimson Cavern, Luminescent Cavern
• 1x Breezed Bloop Fish
  • Location: Bloop Fish Hunts

Entering the Mineshaft

To start, you need to gain access to the Mineshaft area at Roslit Bay. To do this, speak with the Merlin NPC and select the option ‘I need to enter The Chasm‘. He then grants you the Merlin’s Veil buff, which allows you to enter the Mineshaft. Keep in mind that you need to complete Merlin’s previous quest, too.

Next, walk behind Merlin’s house onto the wooded platform, and jump down into the water. You’ll see a chasm that you can swim into! Keep going until you teleport to the Mineshaft.

How to Get Radiant Crystals

The required catches for Merlin are Radiant Crystals, which are obtainable via the pool of water in the Mineshaft. These are of the Gemstone rarity, making them pretty difficult to get. Radiant Crystals have no preferences, with a Resilience of 30 and a Progress Speed of -80%.

During the minigame, your Control decreases by 0.015 every second. After successfully hooking the Radiant Crystal, you get the Divine V buff for 60 seconds, which increases your Luck by 2x per Tier, capping at Tier 5.

After Collecting All 3 Crystals

Once you have the Breezed Radiant Crystal, the Serene Radiant Crystal, and the Celestial Radiant Crystal, you can head back to Merlin. This unlocks the dialogue option to ‘craft’, which you can select to obtain the Dusky Thread. This is the first requirement for the Astraeus Serenade rod!

How to Get all Required Mutations

Breezed Mutation

The only way to get this mutation is by fishing with the Wind Elemental Rod. The rod itself grants a 25% of applying the Breezed mutation to any catch.

You can obtain the Wind Elemental Rod by completing all of the Wind Master quests. However, to unlock and complete each quest, you must be level 800. The Wind Master can be found at the Glacial Grotto on the Northern Expedition island.

Serene Mutation

To get the Serene mutation, you must fish with either the Polaris Serenade rod or the Duskwire rod – we talk about both of these rods in our Underground Music Venue guide.

The Polaris Serenade grants a 20% chance of applying the Serene mutation, whereas the Duskwire grants a 2% chance, increasing to 4% if it is a Perfect Catch.

Celestial Mutation

To get the Celestial mutation, you have to use the Celestial Rod. This fishing rod guarantees that every catch will have this mutation!

If you’re lucky enough to take part in the HEAVENLY SPARKLES admin event, then there’s a 5% chance of the Celestial mutation being applied to your catches.

Lunar Mutation

To get the Lunar mutation, you can either use the Astral Rod for a 5% chance or the Event Horizon Rod for a 5% chance. However, if the Moonlit Mirage event is active, all players have a 0.63% chance, no matter which rod they’re using.

Nova Mutation

For the Nova mutation, there are 2 rods which you can use. With the Rod of the Cosmos and the Cerulean Fang Rod, you have a 15% chance.

You can use any rod if the Starfall event is active, as it grants a 5% chance. Lastly, if you fish using Starlight Worm bait, there’s a 30% chance of getting a catch with the Nova mutation.
