How To Forge Prospecting 6 Star Items

First, head to the Forge within the Magma Furnace. You cannot create 6 Star Items with your average Blacksmith NPC. Forging is as simple as unequipping and inserting two 5 Star wearables of the same type, and fusing them, consuming both items, in exchange for a 6-Star item.

This action requires a sum of Shards to perform.

What Do 6 Star Items Do Differently?

If you have 5-Star items, I assume you’re at least somewhat familiar with the grading system. This takes the inserted Minerals needed to craft an item and decides the outcome of buffs based on the Minerals’ perfection. This includes their size, modifiers, and purity. The better the forge, the more buffs your item will adopt when initially crafted.

6 Star items gain small enhancements to the base stats of both inserted 5 Star items.

Is It Worth It?

The buff seems minuscule to players who aren’t in the late-game, so I only recommend doing it if you’re at this stage. 6 Star forges are material-intensive, and only worthwhile if the 5 Star items you’re forging are of high quality. The outcome item always depends on the average quality of both inserted items. For example:

• x2 5 Star Items at 100% quality will give a 100% 6 Star Item.
• x1 5 Star item at 50% quality, and x1 5 Star item at 70% quality will give a 6 Star item between 60-65% quality.

I recommend only reforging items at 70%+ quality, as it’s difficult to get a 100% quality item, and 70% still offers a decent enhancement.

Reforging for 6 Star items is worthwhile if you replace your more limited slots. Neck and Charm have one slot each, whilst Rings have several. Having a 6 Star Charm or Necklace is significantly better than a 5-Star. However, investing two currently worn 5 Star rings to get a 6 Star may not equal more buffs. (Unless you get two+ 6 Star rings to compensate).
