Fail Run is a game about getting from A to B. Which sounds pretty simple, but when you add in a flailing body that doesn’t really know how to take steps properly, things can get a bit difficult.
Which is why we’ve written this guide. It’s packed full of the sort of hints, tips and tricks that are going to make your totter from the start to the finish of its many levels slightly easier. Don’t worry, you’re still going to fall over in hilarious ways too – that’s half of the point here, after all.
Follow these suggestions and you’re going to find your manic hikes that little bit simpler, that much we can guarantee. Here, then, are the top five hints, tips and cheats to help you out in Fail Run.
Take small steps
It can be tempting to stride out, using big steps to get to where you need to go as fast as possible. This will inevitably end up with you flat on your face. Instead take small, shuffling steps, correcting for balance as you go. It might take a bit longer, but you’re much more likely to get to the end of a level.
Only part of you has to cross the line
It could just be the top of your head as you fall down – so long as nothing other than your feet touches the ground before then, you’re still going to finish the level. This is particularly useful in levels where you’re trying to get off something. A last second dive to the line will usually do the job.
It’s okay to stop and re-balance
Sometimes you’ll want to take a second with both feet flat on the floor to regain your equilibrium. This is especially useful on levels where you have to take big steps, or where there’s different inclines. Taking a moment to find your feet can be the difference between success and failure.
Skip if you have to
Sometimes you’re going to feel like you’re just bashing your head against a level and you’re never going to get past it. Instead of letting those frustrations get the better of you, take the easy way out and watch a video to skip the level. This should be a last resort, of course, but don’t beat yourself up about it if you decide to take the skipping course of action.
Pushing obstacles works too
Some levels tell you you have to step over an object. Sometimes though, you’re better served barging through them to get to the finish line. Crossing that line is all that matters in terms of completing a level, and you should use every advantage at your disposal to get there.
