The end of the year is coming up quick, which means it’s time to stop thinking about the past and start thinking about the future. Or more accurately, it’s time to start thinking about the most exciting mobile games that are going to be coming out next year.

So that’s exactly what we’ve done. And we’ve done it in list form, because that’s the sort of thing that people on the internet love. And we reckon there’s going to be something on the list that’s going to tickle your fancy, whether you’re into massive games, little games or something in between.

If you think we’ve missed something from the list, then feel free to let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article. Before that, though, here are the most exciting upcoming games for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Diablo Immortal

The more we hear about Diablo Immortal, the more excited we get about it. Set between the second and third games in the series, it looks like it’s going to bring the full Diablo experience to the palm of your hand. Massive, violent and chock full of monsters and loot – what’s not to love?

Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!

It’s been a pretty good few years for Crash Bandicoot. And the resurgence of the 90’s icon continues with his first steps into the mobile world. The game looks like it’s going to be similar to Temple Run, but faster, crazier and with a whole bunch of boss battles thrown in for good measure.

Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade

An MMO RTS (think Clash of Clans et al) set in the grim dark future of Games Workshop’s sci-fi universe. Build up your battle barge, train up your warriors and mash the living bejeebus out of everything that moves.

Dragon Quest Tact

A gorgeous-looking tactical RPG set in the Dragon Quest world. Build up a team of monsters and heroes and take down all-comers. It looks like it’s going to put a big smile on your face and fill up hours and hours of your life.

Stellar Hunter

A neat looking idle-ish RPG with roguelike elements that sees you exploring the depths of the universe after a spaceship crash. There’s some awesome looking monsters, plenty of loot to collect and loads more to sink your teeth into.

Inked

This one’s been a smash-hit on PC, and we reckon it’s going to be just as much fun when it comes out for mobile. A puzzling adventure with a gorgeous art-style, you’re going to fall in love with Inked when it lands on mobile.

Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon

A retro-style dungeon crawler with a focus on local multiplayer. Set in the world of Oceanhorn, you’ll battle your way through enemies, grab a load of loot, and randomized modifiers make every level and experience unique.

Tomb Raider Reloaded

We don’t have loads of info on this one, but it’s Tomb Raider, it’s coming to mobile and it looks pretty cool. There’s a T-rex in the trailer, and everything looks cute and bobbleheaded. What’s not to like?

NeiR Reincarnation

It’s been delayed a few times already, but we’re expecting this mobile version of the hack-and-slasher to land early in 2021. Quite what we can expect from the game itself remains to be seen. But we reckon it’s going to be bonkers one way or another.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer

Think Pokemon GO, but set in the Witcher universe. There are freakish monsters to hunt, quests to complete and plenty more in this AR adventure. Get out of the house and swing a sword around but, y’know, digitally.

Spyjinx

A new game from Epic and, er, JJ Abrams? It sees you controlling some spies, sending them on missions and building up a base. It all looks pretty cool, and we imagine it’ll be a lot of fun to play as well.

Just Cause Mobile

It’s Just Cause, but in the palm of your hand. Expect lots of explosions, lots of silly violence, and plenty of co-op and multiplayer fun. Hopefully this one is going to capture the exuberance of the console and PC games.
