With new elemental prowess at play, the meta of Evomon has completely changed. Find out everything you need to know about the new Evomon Dark and Light typings, including their strengths, weaknesses, resistances, and the best team loadout and method to take down the new Seasonal Island Bosses.

Let’s begin!

Evomon Dark and Light

Light Stats

Strong Versus: PSYCHIC and DARK

Weak To: GRASS and DARK

Resists: FIRE, GROUND, and PSYCHIC

Dark Stats

Strong Versus: PSYCHIC and LIGHT

Weak To: BUG and LIGHT

Resists: NORMAL and POISON

Seasonal Island

Part of the Season 1 UPD is the inclusion of the new Seasonal Island. To qualify for entry, you need to first reach level 30. In the bottom left is a drop-down menu labelled “World Select”, click this and choose Seasonal Island to view the new map areas.

Below, I’ll detail more about each boss, including a recommended team to take them down and the rewards for defeating them.

Dark King Clipexor Method

Residing within Lunaria Isle, Dark King Clipexor is best fought against with Thordlord (Ground and Grass). This Evomon evolves from Mudbud (Amber Acres) and Mudthorn.

  • Thordlord Stats
    • Level: 150+
    • Grade: SSS
      • Focus stats into Special DEF
    • Moves:
      • Seed Bomb – (Power 55): Deals Special DMG to the target; gains 1 stack of Growth. Growth restores 8% of HP at the end of each turn.
      • Hone II – Increases ATK by 8.
      • Web Bind – (Power 80): Deals physical DMG to the target.
      • Earth Fissure III – Deals Physical DMG to the target with +1 priority.
    • Trait: Primeform – at full health, DMG taken is reduced by 60%.
    • Nature: Sassy (+SP DEF -SPD)

Method

At Battle Start: Stack Seed Bombs to maximum to gain maximum Growth stacks. (Use around 10 times).

Next, use Hone II around 5 times for the ATK bonus, more if your build isn’t as refined as the suggestion above.

Continue by alternating Seed Bomb and Earth Fissure II, the latter anytime you earn the energy to perform.

Finally, alternate with Web Binding and Earth Fissure II until you defeat the boss.

Once defeated, you will have the chance to catch Clipdow, the lesser evolution of Clipexor.

Light King Wispreign Method

Hailing from the Solaris Isle, Light King Wispreign is most easily bested with Terragon (Grass and Dragon), which evolves from Tarro, caught in Murkwood.

  • Terragon Stats
    • Level: 150+
    • Grade: SSS
      • Focus stats into Special DEF
    • Moves:
      • Verdant Beam – (Power 100): Deals Special DMG to the target.
      • Fighting Will 2 – Increases SPA by 8.
      • Seed Bomb – (Power 55): Deals Special DMG to the target; gains 1 stack of Growth. Growth restores 8% of HP at the end of each turn.
    • Trait: Primeform – at full health, DMG taken is reduced by 60%.
    • Nature: Sassy (+SP DEF -SPD)

Method

At Battle Start: Stack Seed Bombs to maximum to gain maximum Growth stacks. (Use around 10 times).

Next, prioritise Fighting Will II until you gain +30 SPA (300%). This requires 4x use of Fighting Will II, and 6x use of Fighting Will I.

Finally, alternate between Leaf Storm and Verdant Beam. Anytime Verdant Beam is out of energy, use Seed Bombs in between to deal DMG whilst continuing to reserve HP.

When you defeat Wispreign, you’ll have the chance to catch Wispark, its lesser evolution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does SP DEF matter for these bosses?

Both bosses utilise Special Attacks during their battles, meaning SP DEF will give the Evomon extra protection and resilience to these powerful moves. If you’re at the lower end of the level recommendation (level 150), this could be the difference between winning the boss raid or losing.

What is Boss Mechanic?

Boss Mechanic is a new feature implemented for the two Seasonal Island foes. It grants them immunity to all status effects and debuffs applied by other Evomon. This means burns, status debuffs, poison, etc, do not affect them. During battle, you can only use self-inflicting status effects and deal physical damage.
