Apparently, Uncle Lee has absolutely not learned from any of his previous disasters! He’s the central character in Uncle Lee’s Cookbook: Five Recipes for Disaster, which is now out. A point-and-click adventure, it’s a collection of five episodes.
Publisher Dionous Games and developer Relatively Painless Games have launched Uncle Lee’s Cookbook: Five Recipes for Disaster on PC via Steam, GOG, and Itch. All five episodes are improved and voice-acted for the first time.
Lee breaks reality, while Ines has to clean it up. Now, repeat that five times in increasingly ridiculous ways. The game follows rebellious teen Ines dealing with the fallout from her uncle’s experiments, inventions and cooking disasters.
Every episode is its own separate story, but they all revolve around reality-bending catastrophes. One minute it’s science, then magic, then science and magic together.
The game promises challenging but fair puzzles with solutions that actually make sense. There’s also a catchy and dynamic original soundtrack and full English voice acting. Take a look at it below!
Uncle Lee’s Cookbook: Five Recipes for Disaster has gorgeous pixel art, witty dialogue, and weird characters
One story has Uncle Lee accidentally breaking quantum mechanics so badly that wavefunction collapse starts affecting macroscopic objects. Ice cream included, for some reason.
Then there’s the Lake Fenfef episode. A relaxing trip goes completely off the rails after Uncle Lee somehow butt-dials a time machine. That leaves Ines stranded somewhere in time with only a broken reality-fixing device to help her survive.
Another story jumps ahead to an older Ines visiting Uncle Lee’s hometown. She’s there looking for inspiration for a book she’s writing. Instead, she finds the town mysteriously empty and ends up dragged into some kind of paranormal infestation.
