I like these publishers for their honesty. The publishers of Enter the Chronosphere have postponed the title’s Early Access to May 25th, 2026. Earlier, they planned to release it on May 14th. The reason for the push back? Subnautica 2 is getting an Early Access release on May 14th as well!
So, now the new date for Enter the Chronosphere Early Access is May 25th
The game is developed by Effort Star and published by Joystick Ventures alongside Gamirror Games. Talking about the genre, it’s a psychedelic roguelike shooter with turn-based tactics and bullet hell gameplay. And it also messes with how time works.
Everything in the game only moves when you do. Bullets freeze in mid-air, enemies stop moving, and then the second you reposition, reload, dodge, or attack, the entire battlefield wakes back up. Although there’s the stop-and-start combat, it doesn’t include any Leviathans.
The setup is about giant Chronospheres swallowing reality itself. You follow the crew of the Starseer as they try to stop the massive structures that consume time and distort entire worlds. The crew includes Marcia, the last human in the universe, Urtar, a bear, and Lillypilly, a nimble, agile frog.
During the Early Access, Enter the Chronosphere will offer five biomes, each with its own weapons, gear, bosses, and unique challenges. You can explore areas with inspirations ranging from Australiana to the classic sci-fi insect hive.
Every run begins with a choice between three procedurally generated spheres. Each of them has different missions and modifiers. One run might throw you into some bug-infested hellsphere. Another might drop you into an alien wild west where you unlock a new six-shooter.
Basically, you deal with distortions, mutations, and paradoxes you can loot. As for weapons, you can use lasers, bounce shotgun shells, modify a chainsaw so it implants alien eggs into enemies, and then explode those hatched alien minions.
