Gamescom 2023 is well under way in Cologne, and those lucky enough to be at the event will be seeing Joyway’s four new keyboards.
Released under its high-end IYX brand – debuting at the show – these are genuinely impressive keyboards, especially for gamers. Here are more details on this very exciting quartet.
Karloff
To start off this impressive quartet of keyboards is the Karloff, and it might be our favourite. With its carbon fibre surface and all-metal CNC body it offers up a truly tactile experience, particularly if you use it for gaming.
This impressive body isn’t just for show though, with the keyboard’s magnetic carbon fibre wrist rest accommodating a 20,000mAh battery. This supports wireless charging and ensures uninterrupted keyboard power, erasing battery life concerns.
There’s a detachable display module that serves as a clock, timer, and more. This is all operated independently to whatever you connect the keyboard up to as well.
If that wasn’t enough the Karloff integrates multi-layer compartments and customized switches, which actually delivers an enjoyable typing sound. Which is no mean feat, trust us. Full-key hot-swapping is also supported, and there are 3 connecting modes – both wired and wireless.
Opal
Featuring an innovative magnetic suspension GASKET structure, Opal boasts adaptable soft and hard modes. The side switches enable you to customise how you want to use it too – for gaming or for work.
There’s even a gesture-sensing chip (placed by the escape key) that allows lighting adjustments and even web browsing via gestures.
Add in the conveyor belt-style volume roller, transparent body, 3 connecting modes, RGB lighting, and full-key hot-swapping, and large metal footpads and you have a keyboard that works as well as it looks.
Mithril
With a full CNC metal body the Mithril has an 80% key layout. There’s RGB support and three-mode connections, partnered with multi-layer compartments and a suspended structure for easy cleaning and improved key confirmation.
The aluminium case gives this keyboard excellent protection during travel as well, meaning it’s perfect for gaming on the move.
Topaz
This keyboard uses a GASKET structure design. Which is a fancy way of saying it boasts a metal shell with a transparent shell to give a look that is beyond futuristic. The diffused light effect when the lights are on makes the Topaz a real sight to see.
It’s not just a good looker either, and supports three connecting modes. It also has RGB lighting, and features full-key hot-swapping too.
What’s next?
Those are the keyboards then, and they amply show how the creators have an in-depth understanding of the requirements of both eSports gamers, regular gamers, and even office users.
IYX is dedicated to enhancing the gaming experience with these keyboards, and showing them at Gamescom is just the start. There’s a plan to build a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing hardware, software, and peripheral services. So make sure you keep an eye out for IYX and its exciting plans beyond Gamescom!
