Wondering how to perform a HoloCure update? Well, you’re in the right place. That’s exactly what this guide aims to help with. Given that HoloCure isn’t available on Steam, or another traditional marketplace, and doesn’t have a launcher, it’s difficult to know how to update it. Fortunately, we’ve dug into this for you, and have detailed the steps you can take below to keep the game up-to-date.

Not sure what HoloCure is? Well, it’s a brand new game in the burgeoning Vampire Survivors subgenre. It takes place in the hololive YouTube franchise, and sees you play as one of the hit idols. You have to battle hordes of crazed fans, levelling up your character, collecting items, and uncovering one of the myriad secrets.

Next HoloCure Update – September 9

The HoloCure developer Kay Yu as confirmed that the next update will arrive on September 9, and here’s a few things we know about it so far:

• New characters
• Controller support
• New music by @eufrik
• Autopatch
• New max levels for stat boosts in the store
• New items and weapons
• New enemies
• Alternative outfits
• New maps

How to Perform a HoloCure Update

Previously, performing a HoloCure updated required some convoluted steps, which could result in you losing your save. That’s no longer the case thanks to the launcher.  Check out our HoloCure download guide for steps on how to get it.

Here are the steps you previously had to take to update HoloCure:

• Visit the official HoloCure site
• Scroll down to the bottom and download the latest HoloCure zip file
• Unzip the files into your existing HoloCure file – this is a crucial step to ensure you don’t lose your save
• Launch the EXE to play the updated game

Or:

• Unzip the new version anywhere on your PC
• Open the unzipped folder
• Copy all of the files
• Paste them into your original HoloCure folder and replace the original files

Or:

• Install itch.io and let it do all of the work

HoloCure Patch Notes – 0.3.1656470021

Below, we’ll include all of the patch notes that are included in the latest update. Thanks to Reddit user u/cylindrical418 for finding these:

Calli

• Reworked Scythe Swing’s attack animation and damage values. Also added KO chance on level 7

  • Gap in swing has been removed

• Reworked Death skill

  • Chance to spawn a big explosion that deals damage and can KO enemies

• Reduced special attack cooldown

  • Reduced from 100 seconds to 80 seconds

Kiara

• Boosted damage of Phoenix Fire

  • Damage changed to 600% from 400%

  • Lingering fire damage change to 50% from 30%

  • The in-game text from previous versions says it’s 200% instead of 400% but it’s 600% in this update

Mumei

• Reduced the attack of feathers at level 7 slightly

  • Damage changed to 144% from 158%

• History’s defeat requirement has been lowered

  • Instead of every 100 kills, it’s now every 50 kills

Miscellaneous

• Added more input delay when leveling up to reduce the possibility to accidentally choosing an option too quickly

• Added CHANGELOG.txt in the zip file

• More balance changes coming in future patches

What Can We Expect From Future HoloCure Updates?

We can’t say for sure what will arrive in each update, but developer Kay Yu has confirmed the following features:

• Members of HoloJP and HoloID as playable characters
• Controller support
• MacOS and Linux versions
• New enemies
• A new stage

There are no plans for a mobile version at this time though, however.
