Genshin Impact’s 2.8 summer update is absolutely massive, with so much to take in that it’s almost impossible to follow. To help you, we’ve put together a list of the Genshin Impact 2.8 events that you can participate in. We’ll detail all of the events, including when they kick off and end, and what they involve.
Never played Genshin Impact before? Well, it’s an enormous open world RPG that combines Breath of the Wild-style exploration with gacha character collection. There are tons to unlock, and you can equip them with weapons, artifacts, and more. The story progresses with most updates, so there’s a wealth of content to play through.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Events
Below, we’ll round up all of the Genshin Impact 2.8 events that you can play through right now.
Summertime Odyssey
This event kicks off on Friday, July 15 and runs until Wednesday, August 24. You need to be Adventure Rank 32 to kick this off, and complete Chapter II: Prologue – Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves.
Summertime Odyssey consists of a number of smaller events, including Phantom Realms Domain challenges, which challenge you to defeat enemies under a variety of different challenging circumstances.
Beat them, and you get ‘Iridescent Flotsam’, an event currency that you can spend in the event shop. You can actually unlock the character Fischl this way.
Given that it’s summer, it wouldn’t be right for there not to be a water-themed event. That’s where Surfpiercer comes in. This provides you with a race course to complete, rewarding you with a number of goodies.
Genshin Impact 2.8 Events – Reminiscent Regimen
This is a co-op event that challenges you to complete Convoy, Raid, and Descent challenges with a friend for rewards.
Resonating Visions
This kicks off on Friday, July 15 and ends on Wednesday, August 24. You need to be Adventure Rank 32 and complete the quest Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom, as well as Noctua Chapter: Act I – Darknight Hero’s Alibi.
This event sends you back to the Golden Apple Archipelago to collect Phantasmal Conches. Completion provides you with an outfit for Fischl, among other rewards.
Genshin Impact 2.8 Events – Hidden Strife
This event kicks off on Wednesday, July 27 and ends on Monday, August 15. You need to be Adventure Rank 25 and be able to access the Golden Apple Archipelago.
It involves combat challenges, where you have to complete a variety of objectives, and tells the back story of Diluc’s new outfit, Red Dead of the Night.
Evermotion Mechanical Painting
If you like puzzles, you’ll love this event. You have to place different gears on a board in the correct positions to allow them to move. Do so and you can collect a wide variety of rewards.
