The Lord of the Rings is easily the most influential text in the fantasy genre, inspiring countless imitators as well as a brilliant movie trilogy from Peter Jackson.

Developed by NetEase Games – the global developer and publisher behind EVE Echoes and Diablo Immortal – The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is a “geo-strategy seasonal wargame” set in Middle-earth, featuring locations and likenesses from the Warner Bros films, and boasting a whole new storyline.
That storyline, of course, revolves around the One Ring, which has mysteriously surfaced at the deserted castle of Dol Guldur.
Its emergence has the predictable effect of sending the various factions of Middle-earth into a frenzy. Gondor, Mordor, Rohan, Isengard, Lothlorien, Angmar, Erebor, and Rhun have all raised their banners and are marching on Dol Guldur with murderous intent.

The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is a tile-based strategy game in which you’ll divide your time between base-building and expansion, with each tile containing resources that you can use to fortify your settlement, train your troops, and recruit new commanders.
The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War takes place on an open battlefield that evolves over time as players and alliances occupy and lose territory.
This allows you to pursue any strategy you like, from encirclement to marching route disruption.
