Athenion: Tactical CCG is one of those games that’s easy to pick up and play, but if you want to get the most out of it you’re going to have to put the time in and learn the ins and outs of the various mechanics.

And that’s where this guide comes in. We’ve rounded up the best tips and tricks for the game, from deck-building to combos and more. Learn the hints in this guide and you’ll find yourself winning a lot more often.

If you’ve not had a chance to play Athenion: Tactical CCG yet, then you should rectify that fact right now by downloading it from the App Store and Google Play Store. Now let’s get on with the guide.

Balance Your Decks

When you’re building your decks, it’s really important to make sure they’re balanced. It might seem like a good idea to stuff them with the most powerful cards available, but that’s going to leave you in all sorts of trouble. Why? Because the cards you play all interact with one-another in different ways.

Powerful cards are great, but you need to support them with weaker units otherwise they’re going to take the brunt of the enemy’s attacks and leave you without any soul score. Experiment with making sure you’ve got the best balance of powerful, expensive cards and weaker, cheaper ones.

Make use of the card filter and search system too, and build your deck around the combos you wish to utilise (such as searching for specific terms like “berserk”).

Combo Cards

Don’t just think about how one card works, think about how it works in conjunction with all your other cards. A unit with a low defence and a high attack can be useful, but pair it together with a unit with the taunt skill and suddenly it becomes an even more dangerous proposition.

Different factions have different cards that you can combine together. Pair a unit with Berserk with a unit that does some damage to friendly cards. Learning the best combinations of cards to use is going to be a big step towards getting even better at Athenion: Tactical CCG.

Watch Your Arrows

You should always be thinking about the directions your cards arrows are pointing in. And the direction that your enemy’s cards can attack in. If you’re not paying attention you can play a card on the board that won’t deal damage and take a beating.

Even when there aren’t any enemy units in play, you should be taking into consideration the position of your own units and how effective they’ll be. Think about how you can block attacks with smart positioning and how you can use powerful cards to the utmost of their abilities.

Know Your Soul

Your soul power defines two things – the cost of your cards and the damage you can deal to your enemy. The cards you’ve got on the board at the start of the turn define how much damage you’re going to deliver to your enemy. Knocking out your opponent’s cards will cut down the damage they can do to you.

You need to find the right balance between playing expensive and cheaper cards. Three cards that deliver one soul each can sometimes be more useful than one that delivers three on its own.

You’ll therefore also want to balance the soul value of your deck – don’t build it around too many 2 souls-units. You can only use 3 souls each turn after all.

Use these tips for yourself now by downloading Athenion: Tactical CCG on Google Play and the App Store.
